Breast Cancer patients under the age of 45 often feel isolated when they are diagnosed, and more especially in our cancer treatment units where they are very often the youngest on treatment.
The main aim of our upcoming Young Women with Breast Cancer Networking & Information Day at Cork ARC Cancer Support House on Saturday 12th October (9.00 am - 3.30 pm) is to reduce this isolation and fear. All of Cork ARC’s services are free of charge, and booking is essential for all those interested.
This day will be a dedicated space for young women affected by breast cancer to meet with other women going through a similar experience as well as hear from clinical experts on topics such as advances in treatment, surgery, screening and reconstruction, genetics, fertility and sexuality.
Professor Seamus O’Reilly, Medical Oncologist & Cork ARC Co-Chair of Trustees
Michael O’Farrell, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cancer Genetics
Yvonne O’Meara, Systemic Psychotherapist
Mr. Martin O’Sullivan, Consultant Surgeon
Dr. Moya McMenamin, Consultant Obs/Gynae CUMH
