'To Wax or Not to Wax' is the name and the theme for a night of fundraising in Newmarket to benefit Cork ARC Cancer Support House and Cancer Connect.
All are welcome to this fundraiser organised by John McSweeney, at Scully's Pub in Newmarket on Saturday 2nd December.
The two worthy causes John has chosen to benefit are Cork ARC Cancer Support House and Cancer Connect.
Cork ARC Cancer Support House was established in 2003 to provide a holistic centre in which people with cancer and their families can find emotional support and practical help, free of charge. Whatever stage of your diagnosis or treatment, we believe that no one should have to do it alone. Cancer patients and their families can drop in or telephone any of our centres for support and information, without an appointment.
Cancer Connect is a free and a flexible transport service to Cork Hospitals from West Cork for people receiving cancer treatments (radiotherapy, chemotherapy, scans, doctor’s appointments etc.). Dealing with cancer is traumatic in itself; Cancer Connect hopes to alleviate some of the transport pressure by offering a confidential transport service to meet their individual needs. The service is driven and supported by volunteers, by the community for the community. The service is administered by Local Link Cork.
