Bantry Macra na Feirme’s Charity Fun Run on Sunday 11th March will benefit the work of Cork ARC Cancer Support House in Bantry.
Starting at the Westlodge Hotel, the race will take walkers and runners on a fun and relaxed six kilometre route around the environs of the Westlodge and Bantry Bay. Registration takes place at 12:30 and the race will start at 13:00. Entry is €10 per person, with free entry for all those under 14.
Funds raised will be donated to Cork ARC Cancer Support House which is open every Tuesday and Thursday at "The Bungalow" in Goureebeg, near to Bantry Golf Course. There, cancer patients and their families living in the communities of West Cork and South Kerry will find a warm, welcoming support service, offering a drop-in and telephone support service, counselling, therapeutic massage, reflexology and art therapy. As well as a weekly drop in ‘Hour of Calm’ session every Tuesday morning, Cork ARC also offer group programmes designed to improve health and wellbeing, such as yoga and mindfulness.
We also host regular Information Workshops covering areas from Bereavement Information, Diet in Cancer and Hormonal Therapies. All our services are available free of charge, and supported by fundraising activities such as the Bantry Macra's Fund Run!
