Cork ARC Cancer Support House are to benefit from a fundraising Coffee Morning at the Bantry Community Tourist Office on Saturday 15th July.
Timed to coincide with the West Cork Literary Festival, we hope to welcome both locals and visitors alike to our special event at the Bantry Community Tourist Office, Wolfe Tone Square, between 10am and 2pm on the day, and wish to spread the word about our vital community support service for all those affected by cancer.
Since opening in Bantry in 2015, Cork ARC Cancer Support House has created a special haven for its visitors, whose lives have been affected by cancer. Cancer patients and their families are welcome to the centre and will find there practical help and emotional support. Counselling, therapeutic massage & reflexology are all available and can help alleviate the stress of a cancer diagnosis. The drop in centre is the focus of the house where visitors are welcome to call in without an appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Mindfulness programmes and information workshops on diet, bereavement or the effects of hormonal therapies are regularly available. The “Hour of Calm” is a Cork ARC staple – it’s an open, drop in group session for anyone who has been affected by a cancer diagnosis, held every Tuesday morning at 11am.
The Cork ARC team would like to thank Bantry Development & Tourist Association for their generous support of the Coffee Morning.
