We offer a weekly cancer support service at the NICHE Community Health Project on Harbour View Road in Knocknaheeny.
Catriona O'Mahony, an Oncology nurse and Community Cancer Support Co-ordinator with Cork ARC, leads a team of volunteer listeners and a trained facilitator to provide cancer support services, free of charge at the NICHE Community Health Project on Harbour View Road in Knocknaheeny, every Friday morning between 10.00am and 12.00pm.
We welcome cancer patients and their families to:
- Drop in at any time between 10.00am and 12.00pm each Friday morning for support
- Speak with an experienced Oncology nurse, without an appointment
- Drop in for an hour of gentle excercise, meditation and relaxation between 10.00am - 11.00am
- Find out about and access a wide range of support services with Cork ARC
Cork ARC’s cancer support service has been warmly welcomed by the NICHE team, who are also available to provide further information. We are very grateful to the HSE and NICHE for their support and enthusiasm for the work of Cork ARC.
NICHE is a community health initiative working within Knocknaheeny, Hollyhill and surrounding areas of Cork city to improve health, wellbeing and quality of life. NICHE’s mission is to involve the local community in meaningful partnerships with NICHE and others to develop actions to improve and sustain health and wellbeing outcomes.
